Lexington, KY Police Are Looking For A Hit-and-Run Driver

The search continues for the driver who killed a motorcyclist in a hit-and-run accident. The accident happened on Friday, May 30, 2014. The Leestown Road collision involved a car and motorcycle. Afterwards, the motorcyclist was hit again by an oncoming SUV. The motorcyclist, 39-year-old Mary Reynolds-Drury of Lexington, died a short time later from blunt force injuries.

A witness, who lived near the crash scene, said that he saw a motorcycle laying on the ground. When he looked to his left, about 10 feet away or less, he saw a woman face down. The witness also stated that when he ran to the scene, it was pitch black outside. He believed that the construction on Leestown Road contributed to the crash because there were no street lights. According to the witness, it was difficult to see the SUV driver, who drove off after the crash. However, police were able to recover remnants of the vehicle. Lexington Police are asking that if you see anyone who is missing a bumper or side bender to contact them.
