Bravo Sports Recalls Pogo Sticks

Also, kids have fun on different kinds of outdoor toys such as bikes, scooters, skates and even pogo sticks.

Pogo stick recall
A warning to all parents: On March 16, 2011, some pogo sticks were recalled by Bravo Sports of Santa Fe Springs, California and U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. This recall was issued due to the risk of serious injuries. What makes this risky for kids is the bottom of the pogo stick’s frame tube can break. Also, a pin holding the spring in place can break and fall off. There were about 169,000 pogo sticks recalled.

What brands were involved in this pogo stick recall?
This recall includes: Rocket Stick Pogo, Pop Stick Pogo, Monster Stick Pogo and Twin Stick Pogo which were sold in red, green and blue colors. The names are printed on the stem and on the foot pedals. The recall includes only pogo sticks with manufacturing date codes between 04/01/2010-046HE and 10/31/2010-046HE. The date codes are located on a white label underneath the foot pedal of on the stem of the pogo near the foot pedals. These pogo sticks were manufactured in China and sold at mass merchandisers nationwide and online by web retailers from May 2010 through March 2011 with cost between $25 and $40.

Have there been any accidents?
There were about 123 reports from this recall. This included nine reports of injuries. Most reports of the injuries were that the child fell after the pogo stick broke and knocked out a tooth. Some required stitches for cuts they received.

What you should do if you own a recalled pogo stick
