When someone has been in a automobile accident there are so many issues that are thrust upon us as a result of the accident. The most obvious is physical injury, even minor injuries need to be treated. There is usually emotional trauma associated. The “what if “ thoughts that race through a person’s mind can cause a lot of stress. Then there are the practical issues, “Where do I get me car fixed?”, “What will I do for transportation?”, “Who will pay for this?” and the list goes on. Add to all of these stressors the necessity of speaking to insurance adjusters.
I just added an
article outlining what a person should and should not say to an adjuster. One of the most important things to remember is that while the adjusters are coming across as sympathetic and caring, and I am sure most are, they are employed by the insurance company and one of their primary concern is to lessen the amount their company, the company they work for, has to pay. They are looking for reasons not to pay in many cases. Seemingly harmless answers to simple questions can actually be harmful to your case. If you read this article you will be better prepared if you ever find yourself in this position.
