Manhattan Group is recalling about 8,300 baby rattles in the U.S. and 4,100 in Canada. Known as Manhattan Toy Quixel baby rattles, its color arches can break, thus creating a small part which poses a choking hazard to small children. The company has received four reports of the rattles breaking. Fortunately, no injuries have been reported.
Recalled rattle details
The recalled rattles have four color arches particularly red, orange, green and blue. Each of the arches have sliding beads measuring about 5 inches in diameter. The arches are held together by a single string of red, white and blue elastic. Manhattan Toy Quixel baby rattles were manufactured in China and imported by Manhattan Group LLC, of Minneapolis, Minnesota. The rattles, which cost about $15, were sold at specialty toy and baby stores nationwide, in Canada and online at www.manhattantoy.com from September 2011 through October 2013.
What you should do if you own this product
Consumers are advised to immediately take these baby rattles away from young children and return it to the store for a refund.
