In Breckinridge County Kentucky the day before Christmas Eve two young girls were killed in separate accidents. Both of the young girls were hit by cars.
The youngest of the two, Lydia Hility, was 11-years-old and was struck and killed on Ky. 690 as she came out from behind a mail truck. She was delivering cookies to her mail carrier when she stepped out into the path of an oncoming vehicle. Authorities have reported that they don’t believe weather played a role in this accident
The older of the two girls, Miranda Zapada, was 13-years-old when she was killed on Ky. 86 near Garfield, Kentucky. Her father had stopped to offer help to a stranded motorist when she was hit and killed. The driver of the vehicle that hit Miranda did not stop. The police are looking for the driver of the blue pick up truck that hit Miranda. The conditions on the road at that time were icy and hazardous.
According to Kentucky State Police Trooper Steve Pavey “Especially on the eve of Christmas Eve, and here you have two children Killed in Breckinridge County, a rural area...it’s very sad and vary unusual.”
