Louisville, KY (PRWEB) March 26, 2013

Kentucky personal injury attorney, Mike Schafer said children’s safety in Kentucky is a top priority. He urges consumers and parents to immediately stop using the recently recalled activity walkers of Toys “R” Us. According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, Toys "R" Us recalled about 9,000 units of walkers because the small bolt and spacer that attaches each front wheel can detach, putting young children at risk of choking. According to Safe Kids Worldwide, an average of 982 children ages 14 and under died from unintentional suffocation each year since 1999.

Recall details
The recalled walkers have model number "Toys 'R' Us 5F5E972" and barcode number 3700217300319. The model number is printed on the bottom of the activity walkers while the barcode number is found on the bottom of the activity walker box. These walkers have a round wooden push handle on the top of a curved triangle-shaped wooden walker base with four wheels. The child walkers measure about 19 inches tall and about 13 inches wide and has a multi-colored xylophone with two triangle mallets, one multi-colored abacus and one scratch noise maker on the front of the walker.

Has anyone been hurt by this recall?
Toys “R” Us received five reports of the front wheels detaching, but no injuries have been reported, according to U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. Imaginarium Activity Walkers were manufactured in China and imported by Toys “R” Us Inc., of Wayne, New Jersey. The walkers were sold exclusively at Toys “R” Us stores nationwide and online at http://www.toysrus.com from August 2011 to January 2013 for about $30.

“Children in Kentucky and all over the world love to play. Playing is so much fun,” said Schafer. “Nowadays, there are lots of toys and walkers that children dream to have. As a personal injury attorney, it is important to educate parents and consumers about product recalls to prevent an unintended tragedy.”

The Schafer Law Office wants to ensure the safety of young children. “Immediately stop using the product and return the walkers to a Toys R’ Us store for a full refund or store credit.”
