Fatal Accident at Kroger Distribution Center in Louisville, Kentucky

Posted on Jan 07, 2009

Henri “Hank” Poulsen was killed yesterday morning at the Kroger Distribution Center.  Poulsen, aged 68, has been a driver for Summit Truck Lines based out of Indiana for many years.

The accident occurred early Tuesday morning when Poulsen was in the process of hooking a trailer to her truck when another truck hit her.  She was pronounced dead at the scene and the cause was multiple injuries.

The driver of the truck that hit Poulsen was a contractor from another company and was a spotter.  A spotter is someone whose job it is to move trailers from various spots within the lot.  The accident is considered an “industrial accident” and no charges have been filed against the spotter.
