Driver Fatigue May Have Caused Fatality on U.S. 60 in Louisville

Late Thursday afternoon a fatal accident occurred on U.S. 60 near the Jefferson/Shelby County line. The accident involved a Chevy Blazer and a Cadillac.

The driver of the Blazer admitted he may have fallen asleep when his vehicle which was traveling west crossed over into the eastbound lane and struck the Cadillac. The driver of the Cadillac suffered two broken legs while the female passenger was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Chevy was hospitalized with injuries that have been reported to be non-life-threatening. The two passengers of the Chevy, ages 6 and 7 were also hospitalized and their injuries also considered non-life-threatening.
