Crash in Middlesboro, Kentucky Kills Another Teenager

Tuesday afternoon 15-year-old Brooke Lambert became the 9th teenager from Bell County to be killed in an auto accident this year.
The accident happened on Kentucky 74 when the vehicle Lambert was in was traveling east and crossed over into the westbound lanes where is struck another vehicle. The vehicle Lambert was in then rolled over on the side of the road. Lambert was ejected from the car and pronounced dead at the scene. Kentucky State Police investigators have been unable to determine whether she was wearing a seatbelt at the time due to the damage to the car.
Another passenger, 16-year-old Whitney Brock, was also injured and flown to a hospital with serious injuries.
Four other teenagers from the same area died in December when their car collided with a coal truck in a slick U.S. 25 East. In January of 2008 four other teens died when their car hit a tree.
Police have not seen a rise in the number of accidents but the accidents have involved vehicles with numerous passengers.
