Cell Phone Laws Introduced to Kentucky Legislature in Effort to Prevent Auto Accidents

In a call sent out by the National Safety Council asking states to enact laws that prohibit hand-held cell phone use while driving Kentucky responded.  January 6th of this year two bills were introduced in the Kentucky legislature that if made into laws would ban the use of hand-held cellular devices while driving and prohibit the use of any personal communication device by anyone under eighteen while operating a motor vehicle, motorcycle or moped.  These bills would authorize fines of between $20 and $100 per violation beginning in January of 2010.
