Another Fatal Tractor Trailer Accident in Kentucky-Kentucky Truck Accident Attorney
DATE: April 21, 2010
LOCATION: Webster County, Kentucky
TYPE: Driver of a tractor trailer was killed in an accident on the Pennyrile Parkway.
A tractor trailer transporting 8,700 gallons of gasoline wrecked on the
Pennyrile Parkway in Webster County Kentucky closing the highway for almost 12 hours.
The driver of the tanker, 55-year-old Kirby Carver was traveling south on the parkway at about 4:00 a.m. when the wreck occurred. It is unclear hour the accident happened. According to Captain Donald Jones of the
Webster County Sheriff’s Department the tanker was overturned in the median and Mr. Carver was lying in the northbound lanes. The assumption is that he was ejected from the vehicle.
Another tractor trailer driver came upon the accident and pulled over to help. The driver attempted to stop another car in the northbound lane. He was unable to stop that car which ended up hitting Mr. Carver. He tragically died at the scene of the accident.
The car that hit Mr. Carver, driven by James Hurt of Evansville, Indiana, ended up overturned and fortunately none of the passengers were injured. Clean up of the accident took an exceptionally long time because of the nature of the mess.
This yet another devastating accident on a Kentucky roadway involving a tractor trailer. My sympathies go out to the family of Mr. Carver and his loved ones.
