Over the weekend two people were the victims of a hit and run as they were leaving the
Kentucky State Fair. The incident stemmed from an altercation with the occupants of the SUV and the pedestrians. The pedestrians have been identified as Shelly and Steven Riggs. The SUV was attempting to make a turn when the fight started with the Riggs. After the fight the SUV ran over Ms. Riggs and left the scene causing substantial injuries. Ms. Riggs is now in stable condition.
The driver of the SUV turned himself in to the police and has been charged with among other charges, assault and leaving the scene of an accident. The driver has been identified as 28-year-old James C. Moore Jr. and is now in custody.
