Beautiful Young Woman, Sarah Bearden, Killed in Collision with Louisville Police
Kentucky Fatal Accident Attorney
DATE May 22, 2010
LOCATION North Hurstbourne Parkway, Louisville, Kentucky
TYPE Fatal accident with Louisville Metro Police officer results in a young womans death.
As an attorney that represents the families of fatal accident victims I see a lot of sadness and grief in my line of work. This particular incident has hit a little closer to home. The victim here, Sarah Bearden, was the cousin of one of my daughter’s friends. I cannot even imagine the pain Ms. Bearden’s family and loved ones are experiencing.
This tragedy occurred late Saturday night on North Hurstbourne Parkway and Headly Hill Road. Louisville Metro Police reports indicate Ms. Bearden was traveling north when she turned onto Headly Hill. She was then struck by another vehicle driven by James Adams, a Louisville Metro Police Officer assigned to the narcotics and intelligence unit. Officer Adams was traveling north at the time of the accident.
The impact of the accident sent Ms. Bearden’s car into the grassy median and spun Officer Adams car around. Ms. Bearden was transported to University hospital where she died Monday morning. Officer Adams sustained injuries to his leg and back. There have been reports that the officer was speeding at the time of the accident. The accident is still under investigation by both the Traffic division and the Public Integrity Unit. My sympathies go to the family and loved ones of this special young lady.
