A car accident Saturday night (November 11, 2010) happened in Louisville KY, Southwest Jefferson County on Old Third Street Road south of Outer Loop wherein one person was killed in the crash according to the Louisville Metro Police. A red Pontiac Firebird was headed east on the road when the driver lost control and hit a white minivan. It was the passenger of the car that was killed, the driver was seriously injured and two people in the van were also hurt.
It appears from the investigation that the factor of the accident was due to the slick road. Can we really say it’s because of the road? We can’t tell unless the driver will say so. But for the thinking, we can site other factors that might had caused the accident such as the driver falling asleep, quarreling with the passenger, he was texting or talking on the phone. The driver may be distracted once he gets off his hands on the steering wheel, his eyes off the road and diverted his attention to something else.
Accidents may be prevented if one will just follow the traffic rules and focus his full attention on his driving. But of course, as one gets so busy with all the everyday work loads and any other situations, one tends to just ignore this and do whatever he seems to manage. Let us remember that there should always be time for everything because we never know, accidents just happen at the time we least expect it. Our thoughts go out to the family of the deceased and hope for a speedy and complete recovery of those injured.
