Pickup Truck and Tanker Involved In Fatal Crossover Crash in Clay County Kentucky

Fiery Crash in Clay County Kentucky Kills Two-Kentucky wrongful death attorney

DATE: June 15, 2009

LOCATION:  Clay County, Kentucky

TYPE:  Crossover accident involving a tanker truck filled with gasoline kills both drivers

According to Kentucky State Police on Monday afternoon a fatal crash occurred on the Hal Rogers Parkway in Clay County Kentucky.  Investigators say that the accident happened when a pickup truck crossed the centerline and hit the tanker truck. 

At the time of the impact both vehicles burst into flames killing the drivers of both vehicles.  The intensity of the fire was so great that it took emergency crews almost an hour before they could get close.  The investigators also said the victims were so badly burned that it may take days to positively identify them. 

Residents near the accident site were asked to leave their homes until the police determined that the substance in the tanker was not toxic.
