LOCATION: 600 Meriweather AvenueTYPE: Sanitation worker killed in parking lot of Public Works.
Wednesday afternoon 51-year-old Darlene Brown was struck and killed by a sanitation truck in the parking lot of the Public Works Sanitation unit.
The Louisville Metro Police Department are investigating the accident and report that at 3:30 on Wednesday afternoon tow sanitation workers had gotten off a truck. At that point the driver pulled the truck forward striking Ms. Brown. Also according to the police Ms. Brown was pronounced dead at the scene.
At this point the Louisville Metro Police Department is investigating the accident but is reporting that it appears to be a tragic accident. This is a tragedy. Our condolences go out to the family and loved ones of Ms. Brown. We are saddened by your loss.
