Lincoln County Kentucky Crash Kills One and Injures Three Others

Maggie Cornett of Kings Mountain was killed in an accident Saturday evening.
Late Saturday afternoon in Lincoln County Kentucky a horrible accident occurred that took the life of one and injured three others. The accident occurred at an intersection of Old South Fork Road and Ky. 501 when a pickup truck failed to stop at a stop sign.
The driver of the pickup truck, Helen G. Ryan, age 44 of Stanford was traveling north and failed to stop at a stop sign. Another truck, driven by 51-year-old Darrel Emerson, traveling west on Ky. 501 struck Ms. Ryan’s truck sending it over a 25 foot embankment. After overturning Ms. Ryan’s truck came to a rest upside down on a railroad track.
A passenger in Ms. Ryan’s vehicle, Maggie Cornett, age 27, was pronounced dead at the scene. Ms. Ryan, her other passenger Alex Ryan, age 11, were transported to
University of Kentucky Hospital in Lexington while Mr. Emerson was transported
Fort Logan Hospital in Stanford, Kentucky.
