Real Or Not Real, Lanterns In Alabama?

In this week's Real or Not Real, we asked you all if you thought that this Alabama law was true or not:

"It's legal to drive the wrong-way down a one-way street if you have a lantern attached to the front of your car."

So, what did you think? Was this law just crazy enough to be real? The answer is YES! In Alabama, it is legal to drive the wrong-way if you have a lantern attached to the front of your car. I guess Alabama wanted to make it their own. Thanks for playing! Keep an eye out for our next fun fact on Facebook.

Do only bon a fide lantern that produce light via a light fire count? Would a modern battery powered lantern quality under this law? If so, are headlights not just electric lanterns that are permanently strapped to a car? Do headlights then count under this law?
