Felt Bicycles recalls over 2,000 Aero Bikes-Louisville, Kentucky Bike Accident Attorney
Springtime is so much loved by many especially those who love outdoor activities here in Kentucky. This is a time to stroll or bike around seeing flowers sprouting in gardens and parks and having so much fun with family and friends.
Attention to Kentucky bike users because there was a voluntary recall of over 2,000 time trial/triathlon bikes announced by Felt Bicycles due to reports of forks breaking. The bicycle’s fork steer tube can break, causing the rider to lose control, fall and suffer injuries. Felt Bicycles has received seven reports of the bicycle forks breaking and luckily, only minor injuries, including bumps and bruises were reported in one of the incidents.
The recall includes all 2009 Felt model B12, B16 and S32 bicycles.
Ø 2009 B12 – These bicycles are gloss silver/carbon and have carbon fiber fork with aluminum steerer tube (US and Canada only – UK model has different fork).
Ø 2009B16 – These bicycles are matte black/red and have carbon fiber frames with carbon fiber fork with aluminum steerer tube.
Ø 2009 S12 – These bicycles are available in gloss white/red and have aluminum frames with carbon fiber forks with aluminum steerer tube.
Felt dealers have already been informed of this issue and for those consumers who currently own these models should cease riding their bike and contact their local Felt dealer for a free inspection and repair.
Any immediate questions on this can be directed to Felt’s Dealer Support in the USA at (866) 433-5887 or UK distributors Saddleback on 01454 299965 or dealersupport@feltbicycles.com. Bikers need to do everything they can to keep themselves safe on the road.
