Wrong-way Crash on I-75
Louisville, Kentucky fatal accident lawyer
Early morning of July 15, 2011 at around 4, a minivan that was going the wrong way caused a double fatal crash. Due to the crash, two lost their lives and one was in very critical condition.
The accident happened in the southbound lanes of Interstate 75, near Exit 83, south of Richmond in Madison County wherein a minivan driven by Joseph Vardeman, 38-year-old, of Corbin entered I-75 from exit 83 but went through northbound in the southbound lanes and struck a car with two woman inside.
The driver of the car is a 25-year-old lady, Megan Crawford, of Metamora, Illinois. She was rushed to University of Kentucky Medical Center and is in very critical condition. Unfortunately, the passenger of the car Amy Adkins, 26-year-old, of East Peoria was killed in the crash and so with Vardeman who was also declared as dead on the scene.
According from a Madison County Coroner Jimmy Cornelison, the two vehicles were completely smashed. He also added that the investigation continues and drugs and alcohol were not pointed to have been factors for the crash.
It had not been determined yet why the minivan was traveling the wrong way. The three southbound lanes of Interstate 75 were shut down for about three hours.
My sympathies for the families of the two people who lost their lives in the accident and my prayers for Megan and her family.
