Wet Roads May Have Been a Factor in a Fatal Motorcycle Crash
Weather here in Kentucky is not so good these past few weeks. There have been floods in some area of different counties. This makes driving difficult here on Kentucky roads.
A fatal accident happened last Sunday (May 1, 2011) night. It was a motorcycle crash on Interstate 65 near Hospital Curve at around 8 p.m. Wet roads may have been the factor of the fatal motorcycle crash incident. The driver was identified as Ivan Holston, 53-year-old, from Big Clifty, Grayson County, Kentucky.
It was being stated by a witness to the Police that Holston, driving his motorcycle, was traveling in the fast lane on northbound Interstate 65. He passed several cars and was unable to manage the curve and missed the turn near First and Liberty. The motorcycle then struck to a wall and Holston was thrown into an oncoming southbound traffic, where he was hit by an SUV. He was declared dead at the scene.
It’s so sad to hear tragic accidents like these. Our prayers go out to the family of Ivan Holston. So, when experiencing a not so good weather condition, extra care should be exerted while driving on a wet Kentucky road.
