A car crash took place on the Gene Snyder Freeway near Interstate 65 in the southern part of Jefferson County, Kentucky on Wednesday morning, February 09, 2011 at eight o'clock. There were three passengers in the car including a baby.
Louisville Metro Police say that the driver lost control of the car which led to a crash. The male driver suffered non-life threatening injuries and the baby who was taken to Kosair Children's Hospital suffered only minor injuries.
Unfortunately, Renee Logsdon, a 30-year-old female, who happened to be in the passenger seat and was partly ejected died just before noon from multiple blunt force injuries on the Kentucky car crash accident. It was reported that she had not used her seat belt according from a Jefferson County Coroner Jack Arnold.
The Gene Snyder Freeway, from Interstate 65 to Interstate 71 has had an increase in serious automobile accidents. One of the primary factors appear to be the low-level grass median which extends little to no protection for crossover incidents.
Our deepest sympathy and condolences go out to the victims and family of this tragic accident.
