TYPE:     Fatal accident on I-64 kills Johnny B. Blevins and Devin Wayne Campbell Saturday morning.

Kentucky State Police are investigating an accident that claimed the lives of two men Saturday morning.  According to their report 56-year-old Johnny B. Blevins was headed westbound on I-64 with 21-year-old Devin Wayne Campbell.  They were traveling in a pickup truck and hauling a trailer with a bull in it when a tire blew out causing them to lose control. 

Police reports say that as they were trying to get off to the side of the road another vehicle driven by 23-year-old Charles Ison tried to pass the pickup.  The two vehicles collided and both landed upside down in the median.  The police have also reported that Ison was flown to University of Kentucky hospital and his condition has not been released.

This is a perfect example of how quickly things can change on the highway.  It is always smart to travel at a safe distance and a safe speed.  My condolences go out to the family and loved ones of Mr. Blevins and Mr. Campbell.  I also wish Mr. Ison a speedy and complete recovery.
