TYPE: SUV rollover kills 2 in Hebron, Kentucky near airport
An accident late Sunday morning on Interstate 275 when William Bolton traveling east left the road and went down the embankment on the right side caused non-life threatening injuries. After going down the embankment his truck then struck a tree. Mr. Bolton was wearing a seatbelt.
Shortly after Mr. Bolton’s accident a SUV traveling on the west side of the interstate crashed as well. According to police reports the driver of the SUV was
distracted by the first accident and didn’t recognize the traffic had slowed in front of her. She then steered hard to the right and then to the left which caused the
SUV to rollover. She and her passenger were both ejected from the vehicle. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene and her passenger passed away on the way to the hospital.
The names of the victims have not been released yet and the accident is still under investigation.
People seldom recognize that there are so many distractions on the road. Most just assume it is cell phones, eating, music and conversations within the vehicle. This tragic accident proves that distractions are everywhere and can be fatal. Out sympathies go out to the families of the deceased.
