Devastating Crossover Accident in Hart County Kentucky Kills 11-Kentucky Fatal Accident Attorney
DATE: March 26, 2010
WHERE: Interstate 65, Munfordville, Kentucky Early morning on I-65 in Munfordville, Kentucky was the scene of a horrific accident killing several people, including one infant. The accident occurred when a tractor-trailer carrying brake drums crossed the median, breaking through the cable barriers, hitting a passenger van. The occupants of the van were Mennonites from Cumberland County Kentucky traveling to Iowa for a wedding. The victims have been identified as John and Sadie Esh and their three daughters; Rose, Anna and Rachel. Also in the van were the son of Mr. and Ms. Esh, Leroy and his wife Naomi and their adopted son, two month old Jalen. The other two victims in the van have been identified as Joel Gingerich and Ashley Mershel Kramer. The two survivors of the accident are Johnny and Josiah Esh, the adopted children of Leroy and Naomi Esh. They were treated and released. The identity of the truck driver has not been released. As a young prosecutor I remember the devastation of the Carrollton bus crash in 1988. The pain and sorrow the survivors experienced were heartbreaking to witness. My thoughts go out to the community and family during this time of sadness and loss.
TYPE: A tractor-trailer crossed the median striking a van killing 10 of the occupants as well the driver of the truck.
