After a collision on January 4th a man from Cadiz, Kentucky was killed. The collision occurred on Ky 274 at a point where the road curved. George Dunn, aged 57, was traveling north when he and Codie Atwell, aged 19, collided near the middle of the road. As a result of this accident Dunn suffered injuries that took his life.
Both vehicles were damaged so severely that rescue workers had to rely on two sets of the
Jaws of Life to remove the occupants. Usually the Jaws of Life just take a matter of a few minutes to extricate people from vehicles but that was not the case here. Not only did the rescue workers have trouble starting the rescue truck they also had to wait for gasoline for one of the sets of the Jaws of Life. It is unknown to me if the equipment failure was the equipment used to rescue Dunn or Atwell.
