TYPE:     An 11-year-old Louisville boy dies after being hit by a possibly drunk driver.

Saturday evening tragedy struck in eastern Jefferson County Kentucky when an 11-year-old boy was struck by a car.  The boy, Dylan Geitgey, was riding his bike on a driveway when the accident happened. 
At around 8:00 a red Escort being driven by a woman lost control and struck Dylan.  The driver, whose identity has not been released, was taken to Baptist East Hospital for treatment of minor injuries while Dylan was transported to Kosair Children’s Hospital.  Dylan was being treated for what had been classified as “life-threatening injuries.  Young Dylan passed away on Sunday afternoon.

According to Louisville Metro Police Department alcohol may have been a factor in this horrible tragedy.  If alcohol is found to have been a factor this is another example of how impaired driving can have devastating results.  My heart goes out to the family and friends of Dylan for losing a child is a devastating blow.  My go to all suffering the heartache from this accident.
