The Kentucky Accident Attorney

Kentucky schools are back in session. Your kids are back at school, but they are still outside playing. Children love the playground whether it is at school or the park. Unfortunately your child can be seriously injured while playing on a playground. Don’t forget playground safety just because school is back in session. What can [...]
Did you know that there are time limits for you being able to file your Kentucky accident case?  If you’ve been injured in a car accident, a bicycle accident or a loved one has died in a fatal truck accident there is a time limit called the Statute of Limitations.  This is the time-frame that [...]
Will a $25.00 fine really deter the conduct of texting while driving? Text messaging is a part of the teenage culture. Kids don’t want to talk on the phone. My daughter will send a text and wait for a reply rather then call a friend. I couldn’t get my sister off the phone when I [...]
On April 25, 2010 Governor Beshear signed a bill that makes it against the law in Kentucky to text message while driving. This bill became the law in Kentucky today, July 15, 2010.  You are no longer allowed to drive a car and text message.  I know this states the obvious, but Kentucky has finally joined the [...]
How much automobile insurance coverage should you have on your family’s car insurance in Kentucky?  What is enough to protect your family should you be involved in a serious Kentucky car accident? These are questions I am asked when people find out I am a personal injury attorney. I try to give the best advice [...]

Fatal Accident Kills Two in Madison County Kentucky

Double Fatal Accident in Madison County Kentucky-Kentucky Fatal Accident Attorney

DATE:     October 2, 2009

LOCATION:     Madison County Kentucky

TYPE:     A pickup truck attempting to pass another vehicle in a no passing zone caused an accident resulting in the death of two passengers.

Kentucky State Police have reported an accident on north Kentucky 627 in Madison County Kentucky that has caused the death of Martha Collins and Martha Gipson.  Ms. Collins was driving when she attempted to pass another vehicle in a no passing zone.  She hit a semi truck going in the opposite direction

As a result of the crash Ms. Gipson was ejected from the car and died at the scene.  Ms. Collins was trapped in the car and had to cut out.  She was transported to the hospital where she later died.  Ms.  Collins infant son was also in the vehicle and was trapped under the dashboard.  A witness held the dash off the child until help arrived and transported the infant to the hospital.  The baby has been treated for a broken ankle but is expected to recover.  The driver of the semi was not injured.

Our thoughts go out to the families of Ms. Collins and Ms. Gipson.  We also hope for a complete recovery of those injured.  We need to always remember to heed the signs prohibiting motorists from passing; they serve as a caution that passing is not safe on that part of the road.
